Dog ate KFC chicken bones
We have a 3 year old Alaskan malamute. We are temporarily living with my in-laws and they left KFC chicken bones in the open trash on top without my knowledge. While at work, my dog ate almost all of the chicken bones.
We took her to the emergency vet hospital to get her checked. She’s perfectly happy with no obvious symptoms. They xrayed her belly and found bone matter in her belly entering her intestines but it wasn’t anything huge. They gave her fluids and released her. Told us to have her fast and bring her back if she showed any signs or symptoms. They said if we wanted to be extra precautionary we could bring her back every 8 hours for additional X-rays but they thought she’d be fine.
We originally were going to take her back but she’s at home her normal happy and pooping white specks and her belly isn’t bloated. I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this or advice because I can’t make up my mind.
