Have to separate adult cat from two cats he basically raised

I've had this cat for 5 years, he's one of the friendliest I've ever seen and is so attached to me, he follows me everywhere I go, sleeps with me every night and cuddles me every chance he gets. I hit some hard times financially and moved back home with the plan on moving back out once I recovered. Covid only made the delay worse. I'm currently house hunting, but during my couple years back home, my parents got two kittens. My cat took it upon himself to groom them, play with them and sleep with them from the moment he met them. As I type this, they're all together sleeping. I realize now that I may have the make the hard choice of separating my cat from the others or leaving him behind.

I plan on bringing him home with me when I visit my family for weekly game night/dinner, so he'll still see them once a week. And I plan on getting another kitten, hoping that might help him in the new place if I bring him with.

Is there anything I can do in this situation to lessen the stress of the separation on my cat?
