So a little background, I have 3 cats. 2 were my wife's cats, 1 is mine. We married and now they all live together in the same house. All males.
At first they got along, and played, they still do sometimes, But also fight alot. Now they fight occasionally over the electric fireplace (space heater), food, blanket positions, water bowls, food bowls, toys, ir somebody is coming down the stairs and doesn't see each other, etc. Basically you name it. Sometimes they are 3 in a row right beside each other, other times they're ripping each other's hair out.
Recently both of my wife's cats have started pissing on everything. We have 4 litter boxes. I try to clean them daily, 2 are in the basement, 2 are mid-level. They have been pissing or shitting on EVERYTHING. Clean baskets of clothes, boxes, house insulation that was laying on the floor, carpets in the basement, plants, Styrofoam, treadmills, rubber door mats, carpet door mats, tables, blankets and their cat towers, sometime just turds on the hardwood floors, in the bathtub, on the hardwood stairs, I'm fucking tired of it. I almost broke my neck the other day sliding on the stairs in cat shit and falling down the stairs. Something has to change.
I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried moving their boxes around to more convenient areas, cleaning it with the special sprays that eliminate odors, using different litters, scrubbing the carpets, feeding them in different areas. I dont know what else to do. We have been locking them out of our bedroom and our second bedroom because they just piss everywhere. Help me please.
