Homemade Pet Food

Hey Everybody! I just want a few question about Homemade food for my pets, mostly if what my family and i have given them the last year its healthy.

In my home we own 2 cats and a husky, Last year we started to make homemade food for them for a few of reasons.

Reason Number One: I used to have 3 cats, but 3 years ago, the oldest one, died he had been feeling wrong and turns out he had rocks in his liver and died while on an operation, he couldnt take the sedative, he had a long live 11ish years, but i felt awful thinking that it may have been my fault, since then i thought of doing homemade for them.

Reason number two: My now oldest cat, that have come to age of 12, its almost feral and spend a lot of time outside, taking him to the vet its near impossible, and with the pass of the years he has lost his fangs, so eating the dry pet food became very hard for him, i could se him eat less and less and become weaker, so we had him and my other cat eat both dry and wet food, but i could see it wasnt enought for him, and at one point he only ate de wet food, yet going to Reason number three

Reason Number three: Wet Pet Food, i dont know in your country, but in my its kind of expensive when bought in bigger cuantities, so feeding my cats, daily wet food was expensive.

Reason number four: The husky is the baby of the house(just turned three, but its essentialy a big baby), my parents love him, and my dad spoils him a lot, he is crybaby and he needed his dry food with a pack of wet food, "not a problem" we thought, we already give the cats a daily small pack for the 2 of them.

Perhaps things would have ended there with the reason number 4, but my dog being a little spoiled baby somehow conviced my dad he needed his wet food in the morning , he would cry and bawl until it got it, as well as the one we give him on the nights, my dad its the kind of person that thinkis you can give a dog anything and as much as you/they want, so he conceded, eventually last year naturally he had a problem, turns out, rocks in the liver, thankfully was no issue he could get them out of him naturally, but it was painful seeing him in pain like my dead cat.

This happened when the older cat became extremely weak and eat a lot less, and i thought enogh is enough, and to substitute the brand wet food, we started make them a grind of boiled chicken livers and gizzards.

They eat with the dry food, its substantilly cheaper, and i hope healthier in the aspect of salts and conservatives, since the we had started adding stuff to the mix, we sometimes add a zuccini or a carrot, and we added a bit of rice, we bought the chicken meat we boil it on a big cooking pot we grind it and we freeze it and by the price of 3 of the small wet food packs they have food for one week or one and half week.

They still eat brand dry food, but we gave them less than before, perhaps 30% less, and we give the pets the homemade food once a day.

The dog loves it, but well he loves trash, and the cats love it to, both the cats and dog have prettier hair, and the old cat especialy looks super healthy, looks 4 o 3 years younger, even more active, we didnt even gave it a second thought by how much they like it and healthier they looked.

Now i dont know why the other day i thought "if there long lasting effects to this?" like the brand wet food, so i came here to ask if the homamade wet food we do on my home could have side effects or even if its actually healthier than the bought wet food.

If anyone see my enourmous post and takes time to answer thanks before hand!
