I have a 10 year old male cat, it seems recently his litter box gets very stinky and acidic to smell very quickly. I change the litter, and the next day it will be burning my nostrils from another room in the house!
Should I be changing his litter out completely every 2 days or is this "more than usual"? I am just so sick of it getting stinky so quick. I feel like maybe this is too frequently to need to change his litter but I'm not sure what's normal.
He seems healthy otherwise - good diet, drinks lots of water, nothing out of the ordinary other than the strong odor from his litter.
Any other tips? PS. I used the recycled paper litter.
