I just realized my cat is marking..

Yesterday when I got into bed my youngest cat, Moto (M/N, ~4years old), jumped up in front of me and got into this weird squat position and when he moved away I noticed a few fresh drops behind him. I had to instantly change the bedding.

Then tonight, again at bedtime, he ran into the bedroom, backed himself up to the closet door, and started pushing out drops of urine. Then jumped on the bed and started to do it there as well, in my spot.

We have 4 cats total, and I think I know what the problem is.. we have to separate all our cats at dinner time bc Moto and Ethel are pigs and will eat the other 2 cats' food. Moto used to go in our bedroom to eat, but we had to start putting one of our older cats (Lucy) in there bc she is a nervous eater and was losing weight due to having to eat in a noisier part of the house. She needs the privacy and quiet of the bedroom to actually eat more than a couple bites of her food.

We have 2 other bedrooms, one is a nursery and the other is my toddler's room, and we dont want the cats to eat in either of those, so the only room that we can use to shut Lucy in is our bedroom.

Moto had 'chosen' the bedroom because he's a bit skittish and it's in the back of the house. We had to physically remove him from the bedroom the first week or so when we started putting Lucy in there to eat. Now he goes to his eating spot (on the cat tree) with no problem.

But I noticed I've caught him marking both times right after opening the door to let Lucy out. He ran in tonight and instantly started marking the closet (there is a litter box in the closet, just cleaned) then did the same on the bed. I think he's marking the room, and me as well, because I'm his favorite person.

I think I'm going to get a Feliway adapter for the bedroom but beyond that I'm stumped. Now I wonder how many other times and places he's marked without me even knowing. I know he's stressed out with the toddler and the baby. I can't start putting him back in the bedroom to eat because its important that Lucy has a quiet place for her meals. She is 13 years old with arthritis and dropped down to 6.25lbs while Moto is a hefty 13lbs. My life is crazy right now in general and while I feel for Moto and love him, I hardly feel like I can handle cat piss on my bed every night. We put down our Dobie mix in October after dealing with incontinence for over 2 years. I miss her like crazy but the constant smell of urine is something I was glad to be done with for a while. I will be calling the vet tomorrow and I guess we'll go from there
