Im going have to get my cat euthanized. Please help guide me to the best approach to this.

Took my cat to the vet today for an issue we've noticed her have, they said its serious and she either has to be euthanized or have a procesdure done that we simply cant afford at the moment with how things are in the world.

We're going to have to euthanize her, but i need help as i know its not going to go how i want it to go.

I wanna keep her ashes, or even her body so that we can bury it but even those options dont seem likely unless we keep her till she passes naturally, which i dont want to see her suffer before she goes... and to get her ashes would just be more money than what we have.

A person at the vet suggested surrendering her to a shelter so that they can make the decision operate and put her up for adoption or euthanize her themselves. But i dont know if i even get to be with her for her final moments.

I dont know how to approach this, any helpful comments will be greatly appreciated. Im Sorry if this post has errors, im having a really hard time keeping it together, im gonna post this in another sub as well to hopefully make the best decision for her. Thank you.
