I’m incredibly torn about finding a pet for myself so I’m gonna briefly run through my situation and hopefully get some opinions on if I’m being realistic about bringing a pet (dog or cat) into my life.
I’m 25M who has my child (1M) 1 night a week after separation from my ex. I live in a very small 1 bed flat above my place of work (a pub) with no access to garden. I have access to a roof and could obviously take them out if needed. Im currently furloughed due to Covid so earning 80% of my usual wage and not working but guaranteed to keep my job when life is normal, after all essential bills are paid I have around £200 per 4 weeks to work with.
I’ve always wanted a dog/cat of my own, have cat ownership experience from living with parents but never owned a dog, I’m honestly struggling with mental health and I would love a companion to help cheer me up.
So I’m hoping some kind people could help me come to terms on if I should find myself a 4 legged friend. I’ll answer any questions if anybody has any. Thanks in advance!
