My 6 month old cat was neutered on Feb 12. He was groggy with anesthesia when he went home. He was fine the next day, already acting pretty normal. But then he started hiding out in my room and on my bed by evening of the 14th. Now, he refuses to leave my bed. He would only leave for the litter box, like he literally sprints to the pan across the house, does his business and sprints back to my bed. He wouldn't go out to eat so I feed him there, making sure there is extra water in the wet food because he doesn't get out to drink.
Other than that, he's fine. He's even playing on my bed! I tried to lure him to the floor with toys, but when he gets to the floor, he would freeze for like ten seconds, then immediately jump up the bed again.
His neuter site is clean, no oozing or any signs of infection. He's eating well, still using the litter box.
I was wondering if this behavior is just part of recovery? Maybe his boy parts still feel a bit swollen so he's retreating to a safe spot? Does anyone have experiences like mine? Maybe he'll be fine after a week or two when he's fully recovered?
