First I want to say that I do love my cat, Henry (9 months), and I want to keep him, but he seems to do the absolute worst thing in so many situations. It's driving me crazy. We have one other cat, Fiona (3 years), and Henry constantly bothers her (she sometimes plays with him, but also wants to be left alone sometimes) and steals her food whenever he gets the chance, so I end up having to separate them for meals to make sure he doesn't overeat and she doesn't undereat. He will knock over any water bowl that is out, and if it's one that can't be knocked, he paws all the water out. I got a cat water fountain, but the cats refuse to drink from it. The only solution that sort of works is to put the water bowl in the tub, which I don't want to continue doing forever, and I have to constantly fill it back up. Henry also tries to bolt out the door every time I leave the house, which is always with my baby in tow, which makes it so hard to get out the door! He knocks over anything on the dining table when we're not in that room. When I water the plants, he tries to come dig at the wet dirt as the water is pouring, and other times he knocks over plants or digs them out. When I'm cleaning the litter boxes, he jumps in the one I'm cleaning. He follows me around the house a lot, and I'm always trying not to trip over him. He does other things too, but this is getting pretty long. I've never had this many frustrations with my other cat, or cats I've had in the past. I'm home most of the time with my baby because of covid, and I play with Henry a few times a day, he plays with Fiona, and has lots of toys including interactive toys. He seems happy, other than wanting badly to go outside (it would not be safe for him to be an outdoor cat where we live) and often cuddles and purrs on my husband's or my lap. I feel bad having to keep both cats out of our room at night, but if he comes in he will wake everyone up by pouncing on them. Is it possible he'll calm down as he gets older?
