So around 5-6 weeks ago I bought my first kitten, she was 6 weeks old and she was very confident and playful from the start, eats great, etc. I do however work full time living bymyself and felt she needed some company so I bought a second kitten a few days ago.
My issue is, my previous cat had full run of the house, she ate or slept in every room so I don't have any spots that isn't her territory and I read the issue would be her attacking the new kitten. She seems okay with her, she's curious and constantly seeks her out but seems more interested in playing however the new cat hates being approached by her. She will hiss as soon as any contact is made, pins her ears back and growls but my first kitten doesn't seem to understand that and tries to play anyway.
Every website I have looked at says this should moreso be the other way round so I am confused. I gave the new kitten my bedroom with the cat tower and the old cats litter box to try get used to scents but she will hates sharing any sort of space with her. She is very need with me though.
I got both cats pretty small, first was around 600g when I got her and this one is probably less than half a kilo. She doesn't really seem to understand what food is but rushes to the sight of a milk bottle. Is it possible she wasn't really aclimitised around cats properly? The owners seemed kinda dodgy when it came to the end stages of purchasing
