We recently got a puppy, and my cat and the puppy get along well. The only problem is that the puppy loves going into the cats litter box to eat his poop (I know.. gross). I read that a great way to keep the puppy away from the litter box is to use a baby gate. The puppy is a Pomeranian, so she won’t be able to jump over the gate. The problem is that my cat won’t jump either. I tried using food and treats to entice him into jumping, but he just meows. The most he’ll do is stand against the baby gate or put his paws through the gaps on the gate. I put small chairs that the puppy can’t climb on either side of the gate, but he won’t even go on top of the chairs to jump over. I don’t know what to do. I want him to be able to get to his litter box even when I’m asleep or not home, but he just won’t jump. He’s 4 years old and healthy. Any advice?
