On Wednesday I took my cat Einstein to the vet in an emergency because I came home on my lunch and his eye was swollen completely shut. The vet said it was mild bacterial conjunctivitis, probably picked up when he was neutered a few weeks ago and his immune system was suppressed from stress. He was prescribed doxycycline and neopolydex. Its now Saturday and Einstein’s eye is still swollen shut, and it looks like his oral medication (doxycycline) will run out soon. Should his eye be open now? Should I get more doxycycline? When should I expect to see improvement?
