So my dog has been acting strange today, whining constantly to be let out and sniffing around like a mad man (mad dog?). I ended up taking him to the vet and they said his prostate is enlarged and they recommended getting him neutered. I made the appointment as soon as we got home and he's scheduled for the 30th of this month. The vet gave me some anti inflammatory medication to help him out in the meantime. However, he is still whining like crazy, begging to go outside constantly. I'm pretty sure it's because he smells a dog in heat nearby (possibly multiple) and he's going a bit crazy. Any suggestions on how to calm him down until his surgery? He barely let's me sleep.
