New dog/ current dog issues
Hello all,
We just got a new dog named “D”he is a boxer and he is one years old. We adopted him from our local shelter after we lost one of our dogs to liver cancer. We have another dog “S”and she is a boxer/pit mix and she is 3 years old. We let them meet in a neutral space and it went horribly. In hindsight it was not a good idea especially since he didn’t have a name yet and he just got out of a stressful kennel environment. Since then we decided to take “S” to my mother in laws house while we establish a relationship with “D” and been taking them on walks together & it’s gotten a lot better between them (no more barking, growling and trying to fight) We did reach out to a trainer but they recently had a possible covid outbreak at the facility so we’ve just been trying to do it ourselves. They seem to be getting comfortable with each other but when can we let them off leash?
