How do I get my dog to stop eating the cat food?

I recently adopted a 7 month old puppy. She gets along great with my roommate’s cat, but has recently been sneaking into the kitchen (which she knows she is not allowed in) and eating the cat’s food. My roommate is not thrilled about the idea of having her cat’s food up high and out of reach for the dog as the cat is a tripod and she wants to maintain easy access to the food. How can I keep my puppy away from the cat food?
