I'll be adopting a kitten in a few weeks when he's weaned and ready. I live with my family, and due to there being a child in the home who I wouldn't feel super comfortable having free-reign around the kitten, and an older cat who's territorial, I'm planning on keeping the kitten confined mostly to my room for the first few months (and possibly after). I'll have a cat tree, climbing shelves, perches, a window box for him to be outside, and tons of toys and hidey-holes. I'm also planning on harness training him and taking him outside if he takes to that well. The room is a pretty average sized room, but still small compared to an apartment. Would that be cruel, even with all the enrichment?
