I adopted a 1 year old male kitten a month ago and he always runs off when I try to come near him. I’ve tried to get down to his level and give him treats. I also was able to play with him with a little toy wand from a distance. But he just doesn’t seem to want me to physically touch him. I have another cat, female 2 years old. I didn’t really follow the rules of introducing them. But after 3 days of hissing at him and me leaving them out while I was at work, they’ve become best friends. Wherever she goes, he follows behind her. They play and eat literally together. I find them sleeping under the bed together. But when it comes to me, he just runs away when I am nearby. Even when I’m putting food in his bowl. I don’t really know what to do. I really adopted him as a friend to my girl (they’re both fixed) and I’m happy they’re getting along. But it would be nice to have him not scared of me.
