I know many of you have an opinion on this, but I was wondering what the general consensus on this is. My neighbor has a main coon (indoor cat) and when it’s sunny he places a small field hockey goal outside his door so his cat can lay outside in the sun but can’t escape. His cat absolutely loves it and has never tried to escape. We also got a main coon kitten last year and I also often sit in front of my house when it’s sunny. I have a leash for him so I’ve been debating whether to tie him to a pole so he can chill outside with me. However we have no clue if this is a good or bad idea for him. Whenever I ask people their opinions vary wildly. I think he will like it but I’m afraid he will want to be an outside cat and we can’t do this very often. What do you guys think?
[Background: My main coon (1year old) is an inside cat as well and I live in the center of a big city so he simply can not be an outside cat. Our street isn’t super crowded.]
