History: No previous health problems at all.
Clinical signs: Out of the blue yesterday evening my cat had a seizure. I heard this incredibly loud meowing yesterday evening at just past 7pm. I came downstairs and he was having a seizure, frothing at the mouth.It lasted maybe 1min. After the seizure stopped his body froze/became stiff. After about 20secs-ish of being kibda stiff, he started moving again, and he suddenly started meowing REALLY loudly which he did for about another 30sec. Then he calmed down and sat on the ground, purring, letting me stroke him. We took him to emergency vet. They did blood tests which they said were normal, checked his kidneys & said they were normal too. The vet said a blood clot may of caused a seizure. They also said he had a heart murmur, which may be a sign of heart disease. They said an MRI for a cat would cost about £1000, so for a cat his age it may be worth thinking about Euthanasia. She also said it may never happen again, 'if it happens twice a year we could treat it', if it happened more than that 'it was worth thinking about the other option(euthanasia).'
Flash forward 12 hours,at 8:04ish am just after my Mum fed him, he lets out another big meow, i run downstairs, hes having another seizure. Same as before, lasts about 30seconds. He wets himself this time. We called the vet and they said they had another appointment at 8:30 am, but we couldnt afford that, weve spent £500 at the emergency vet over the past 3 days which we had to put on a credit card, and that doesent even include Taxis(we dont have a car). They said they would ring back after talking to the vet, we're now waiting for their call.
Context: 4 days ago we had to euthanize my other cat. She had a absess on her face and kept losing weight,we took her to the vet and got her antibiotics and pain meds. 2 weeks later my brother is cleaning her face wound and the bleeding wont stop, they take her to the vet and the vet says her kidneys are enlarged, she may have tumours and she was very underweight. The reason the absess never really healed was because she didnt have enough antibodies and her body was to weak to heal it properly. They euthanized her and i didnt even get to say goodbye, when they left, i thought it would just be to get her treatment, a normal visit. My familys been so upset, so for my other cat to suddenly start developing problems out of the blue ...its like a living nightmare, i feel sick. I dont want to lose my other cat! What can we do? We can't lose him. What tests can be done? I dont know what to do.
Duration: Seizures about 30 secs, hes had 2 of them now .
