My cat is a three year old siamese stray i picked up out of a shelter a month or so ago. This has happened routinely since we got him but he just refuses to co operate at night unless we give in and give him extra food. He’ll slip into a food coma and fuck off for a couple hours but then he’ll be right back at it at 3:30 am begging for food like i dont feed him.
I don’t understand this at all, because I feed him three different times a day. He doesn’t like to eat much at once or probably just can’t so I break it up into meals throughout the day. I play with him plenty. I give him lots of love and attention. He’s never alone for too long. I do a lot of that positive redirecting thing but he just seems to get aggressive sometimes. Which brings me into my next thing: He just straight up attacks me when he’s mad at me. I have accepted that I am going to piss my cat off just by existing wrong sometimes and his natural response is to tell me to fuck off, that’s cool with me. I am not cool with being stalked and pounced on while naked at 3am just trying to pee tho. He latches onto my legs and bites. It’s not play, he stalks my legs, looks me in the face, hisses to let me know he’s going to do it and he knows I am not going to like it, and latches on and bites.
I never let him do it for long bc it hurts. I usually immediately pull his claws out of me and shout OUCH, then ignore him. Then I come back not too long after and attempt to give positive reassurance and direction, except he just attacks me again. And he does not want to be left alone, he’s usually up begging for attention (which again confuses me because i am literally home all day every day??)
So of course im taking him to the vet bc all ouchies on my legs aside, why is my baby so upset and why is he taking it out on me?? Or is it someth im doing?? I do not know.. But basically I need to know what I can do about these things in the mean time

How do I respond when he attacks my legs aggressively? Is it an incorrect response to pry him off?

He’s stalking my legs and I can tell he’s about to attack me; what’s my next move?

How do I get him to sleep through the night? It’s literally 8 hours of the like 18 hours a day they sleep surely they can and will sleep at night yes?

If not how do I at least satisfy him throughout the day?? Like I play with him what else do cats want omg i feed him love him play with him and he is my king so????
im confused, alarmed. and incredibly sleep deprived because i cant sleep through out the night and i can only sleep so many hours of the day plz help. he’s normally a really good boy but he just turns into absolute shithead at night. i wish he would just be a shit head during the day
