Our neighbours cat hangs around our house non stop! We’ve never fed her but we of course give her lots of pats and hugs when we’ve seen her out the front of the house!
We’ve let her inside a handful of times for an hour or so, but even when we put her outside she ends up just sleeping in the bushes at the front of our house all night instead of going home!
Every morning I can go outside and call for her and there she is!
I feel so horrible like I’m taking someone’s pet away. The neighbours have apologised for her friendliness before and we’ve said it’s fine - they don’t know that we have had her inside.
Should we let the neighbours know or apologise? Would you be upset if your cat was doing this?
We’ve recently moved into this house so perhaps the previous owners were feeding her // loving her up? We also think that the neighbours have small/young children at home, could this be a factor?
TLDR: neighbours cat hangs around all day despite not being fed by us. Have we stolen someone’s cat???
