The story went something like this:
I had the cutest pit bull and he was so sweet until I noticed he was getting possessive of me when I'd go to kiss my husband. He'd act aggressive when he ate his food. He was watching my husband make dinner and I went to remove him from the kitchen and he snapped at me. One time he bit me. We made the decision to put him down.
Mind you this is not the exact conversation but it's the summarized version.
I was shown the so called bite marks too and I saw a tiny red dot. She proceeded to tell me dogs don't bite their owners. So I just sort of looked at her still in shock by this information.
Now I have worked with animals of all sorts. Dogs bite. Cats bite. Goats can bite. Come on now.... I just sort of ignored her since everything I said to defend the poor dog, she'd come up with some bs rebuttal about how her family gave her crap for it and she'd say they don't know her they don't know the situation and blah blah blah.
I am posting this because I just don't want to keep it inside and felt the need to share this horrible story of animal neglect. And how shameful it is to do such a harsh thing to a creature that looks to us for shelter and love.
I don't understand people like this and never will...
