Going Bonkers Trying to Find the Best Dry Food for my Adult Cats.

The vet recommends one type. But then a different vet recommends another brand.

Then I am told that vets get kick-backs.

And other cat "experts" don't agree with neither the vets, nor each other.

Grain free? Is it necessary?

All I know is that I will never, ever buy cat food that has "meat by-products" listed. I'm not even happy if it says "chicken by-products." I don't want to be feeding my babies chicken beaks, chicken feathers, or even worse possibilities.

I've been told that Purina has questionable ethics when using ingredients for their cat foods. And Purina is the parent company if many other brands.

Science Diet is supposedly like "candy" for the pets. I thought Royal Canin was better, then I was told, nope. It isn't.

The latest I have been using is Ultra, Grain Free. But is that really any good? Just because one pet store employee recommended it?

And now I am asking you guys. But even though I believe that you're giving your best answer, how do I know that you haven't trusted an untrustworthy source?

I think I really need a pet food scientist (Great, now I sound like Alton Brown!)

Help??
