We have a communal cat in our building. She belongs to not one particular family but the building itself. The food and bedding comes from everyone. She's very friendly and well behaved with everybody. Some time ago she had a litter of 4. Cutest little things, everyone loved them instantly and she never left their side. Fast forward a few months and the kittens became vicious little balls of rage. Extremely aggressive,to the point they were causing problems. You could not go anywhere near without being scratched and/or bitten. a complete disdain towards people or other animals. Odd coming from such a well mannered mother. So they were cast to the backyard. They are now young adult cats and they refuse not only any contact with humans, but even cat food or anything left in a tray a human had touched. I'm sure they hunt their own food as I've seen the remains of birds and small rodents in the vicinity.
What happened?
