Having a second kitten to keep eachother company. Few questions

I have a bengal tabby (from a 100% pure bred bengal) and the tabby was probably the biggest tabby I had ever seen in my life (mom).

The litter was only 4 kittens and I chose the male. He had an identical sister I wish I purchased at the same time.

I know kittens can be bonkers. I just raised my ex’s bengal tabby (was far less bengal) who had been separated clearly from its mother at way too young. He was extremely anxious but also cuddly. Luckily I had worked from home at that time, and do currently but won’t soon. We would use sweaters and they seemed to help a lot.

Now my current kitten is the exact opposite. He will not sit still. He’s not vicious or disobedient just exhausting. He’s going through an annoying biting phase but I grew up with cats my whole life and know how to snuff out behaviors and have successfully done most so far.

However, this dude is bonkers. It can be hilarious, but extremely distracting when working from home. He is bold and absolutely not anxious. He can be sweetheart. I don’t have any sweaters to use as a... restraint jacket until amazon comes tomorrow. I have tried putting other sweaters on him (like my ex’s) but he won’t have it so I got one of those proper anxiety sweaters on sale. Well see. Currently if he’s going crazy for so long and panting I put him in his zip up travel thing and he calms down and sleeps. I’m not sure if this is advised, but I stopped spraying him as I didn’t believe it was healthy for our relationship and was just kinda mean.

ANYWAYS. I have seen numerous of you guys saying to get a second kitten and I’m totally down. I have all the toys kitten condos etc., I grew up with more than one cat at a time in fact. I have a few questions however.

Should they be the same age. Similar species? Should they be opposing genders? I would think two male cats may get territorial but I had a rescue male cat growing up and our female cat would get.... idk, almost raped by it for lack of a better term. They we’re fixed but she did not seem to enjoy how he “played”. So that scares me, especially if the second cat is not a little monster like this guy is.

I really do like bengal tabbies. But I don’t know much beyond tabbies. I know bengals are extremely sociable; frequently friends cats just hide and stuff. Not these.

I have probably added too much information but I’m not sure where to start. And I had my first vet visit and was sort of disappointed with the their help. He is 10-11 weeks old.

Any tips or leads to further information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: I wanted to reiterate I won’t be home all day soon as I switch jobs. So I’m slowly trying to close off my office for hours at a time so he gets used to it as he’s basicslly my shadow. And you guys make a good point it’s literally a bit more litter (or a second litter?) and food.
