Hi all! I'm at a bit of a impasse with my cat, who I have had for one year. I love him a lot, but he doesn't like the litterbox, and uses it about 60% of the time. Lately I've been cleaning up poop from our carpet everyday, and he has pissed on my roommates bed 3 times. I've changed the litterbox a few weeks ago that he seems to like okay, but is still using it about 60% of the time.
It smells generally bad in our apartment because of it, it's quite embarrassing when we have guests over. I don't want to get rid of him, but he is going to run my roommates away and ruin the apartment at this rate. What do I do? How do you properly litterbox train a cat? He isn't neutered, and I'm wondering if that would help. I would really hate to have to give him to another home, but I can't continue the way it is now unfortunately.
