Domesticating a shy kitten.

A little bit of backstory. Recently I moved to a new town and wanted a kitten badly. Next to my workplace there was a colony with two little kittens who are about 4-5 months old now.

After about a month of feeding one of them Füge (Fig) a male came really close and I managed to grab him. For about two or three weeks I had a hard time touching him but then he got used to me. Since than we are pretty good with each other. He sits on my lap purring when he feels like it altough no touching if he does't want to get touching he usually just slips away but comes back when he feels like it.

After a month of cathing Füge I managed to grab the other kitten too Lily. She lives with us for about two or three months but still afraid of me. Never comes closer than half a meter even when I'm feeding them. I managed to catch her a few times and once or twice she even purred a little. If I can get close enough she smells my finger and pulls away. I tried to just scratch her a little or motivate her with food but she doesn't really want to take food from my hand. Yesterday she licked my finger a bit but she won't get close. Must have been really hungry since I ran out of wet food and shops were closed during christmas.

I know grabbing her was a mistake becouse now she links human hands with pain. But I haven't done research with adopting from the streets before I got them.

Also I have to add I have adopted a domesticated stray kitten Eddy as well. He was completely friendly from the get go. He is really dominant. I think he took the lead and sometimes wrestles Füge and Lily too.

Is there anything I can do to get Lily to trust me? I bought some catnip and a few new toys and will try to include her with playtimes. Also "lure" her to my hand with the nip.

Any advices?
