I have two cats, both are about the same age (a week apart), adopted from different shelters. I've had them since they were 3 months old, and they got along just fine until 2 days ago.
One cat is very clingy. She's very vocal, loves attention, frequently sleeps on top of my chest or thigh. The other cat, not so much - she's more like I need my space cat, and sleeps along side of me, without touching me. They both get plenty of play time and food and water, and both healthy.
After this shelter-in-place started, the latter cat started to sleep more closely to me. I'm not sure if this became an issue or not but this is the only thing that's really changed in our lives (other than me staying home 24/7).
The clingy cat attacked the other cat 2 nights ago, with loud yowling. I thought there was gonna be blood but thankfully there was no biting, but this continued for several times so I had to separate them - one with me, and one outside of the closed door. The clingy cat is becoming more clingy and it's just beyond what I can handle at the moment. Any advice on how to mediate the situation and maybe making her less clingy?
