After reading up on catnip, I got curious as to whether there are common herbs and plants that have a similar effect, but for different pets?
I've read that catnip works because it is structurally similar to the sexual hormones of cats. This doesn't have to be the case but it might be a good pointer.
I'm especially interested in anything that would have an effect (calming or exciting) for dogs and guinea pigs. So far, my searches have not resulted in anything worthwile...
