My cat ran away and he was my best friend

How am I ever supposed to get another pet. I had a awesome little kitten named Fin for about a year. He was the perfect cat, not that the other 2 aren’t, but he was exactly what you wanted in a pet. He loves people and would always want to be with me. He even slept next to me on my bed since he was only a couple months old. I had him in a dark time in my life where I was pretty depressed and didn’t know what to do with my life. It sounds dumb but he really did help me cope and get through a lot of stuff. He made me excited to come home everyday and hate leaving. A couple months ago he ran away while I was dog sitting my aunts puppy. I tried everything but it seems he won’t be coming home. I was honestly broken when he didn’t come home and I still sorta am. I still think about him all the time and he’s still my home screen for my phone. I look for him every time I’m driving home in my neighborhood. I’m not sure how I am eve supposed to get another pet because I feel so guilty for losing him. I don’t want to forget him but I feel like I’m always going to compare a new pet to him because of how good he was. I’m going to wait before even thinking about getting another pet but I’m not sure if I will. I love you Fin <3
