My boyfriend and I just brought home our kitten (10 weeks old) and have had him for a week now. In the last couple days, we’ve had a couple incidents of him stepping into his fresh poop (we immediately scoop after every poop so it wasn’t an old one) and tracking little bits around on his hind legs. This afternoon I watched from the doorway and noticed that as soon as he goes, he immediately leans back into it while he reaches to the side to wipe his paws off and then when he gets out his hind legs are covered in it as well as litter. The first few days we were shocked as we had had no messes even though we had been expecting some with a new pet, but now we don’t know how to help him correct this and we’re worried it will become a permanent habit!
