My dog has been on misopristol for stomach ulcers for sometime now and the vet I've been seeing refuses to refill his medicine now on the grounds of "he's an old dog" because he's an old dog?! basically the vet told me he's old so why should he be on medication he's almost at his life expectancy. I understand he won't live many more years but The medicine has helped his quality of life for almost two years! I could understand if he didn't need it any longer but he has a history of getting stomach ulcers. When he was a puppy he had one so bad we almost had to put him down. I desperately want to switch vets so he can be put back on the medication. But my family's only ever used this vet how do I go about switching him over to a new vet will they need records of his prior medication? Or can I just say"hi this is Tiago he's my best friend please give him this drug" I'm worried for my fur baby how can I get him back on misopristol
