A few months ago, my partner of 9 years and I began talking about getting a dog. I've been accepted to grad school, fully funded with living stipend (median income to location), and we thought since we'll have our own space, maybe now we can have a fur baby. Currently, we are living with two uncles and my grandparents but we are expecting to move out in July. My grandpa has a chihuahua and a cat and our home is fully gated with a dog walk. About 3 weeks ago, I was scrolling through petfinder and fell in love with the cutest dog I've ever seen. I showed my partner who subsequently fell in love as well. We couldn't stop thinking about her, so he filled out the pet adoption application. Some days passed, so my partner asked if they received the application on their IG. No response. The following day he asked if they were able to check into it so he can schedule some time off work to help the doggy adjust. No answer. We were left on read. :(
We are really sad, and still can't stop thinking about the doggy a full week later. We're not sure if there's a way to repeal this seeming rejection. *Should move on and try to find another dog to adopt?*
