I have two dogs, a 2 year old male staffordshire bull terrier called lance and a 3 year old male rottweiler called rex. My brother Simon has moved in with me for a while till he has a flat as he split up with his girlfriend and she has kicked him out. Both dogs get on well with simon but lance severely attacked him when I went to the shop. I came back hearing loud screams and crys so I rushed in to see that lance had attacked simon. There was bite marks all over his arms and lance had completely ripped Simon's trousers apart and had bitten him in the privates and was not letting go. Simon was absolutely screaming the place down and rex was just standing there watching as it was happening. Rex wasn't panicking, growling or barking he just stood there and watched. I couldn't get lance off him so I drenched him with a washing bowl of water and luckily he let go. I barricaded lance in the other room and called an ambulance. Luckily there was only a small amount of damage on Simon's testicles but his arms and his private area needed stitching. I'm not sure if I should have the dog put down I have not disided. I have a camera in my living room and the footage shows that lance attacked him for no reason at all. Simon was sat watching the TV stroking rex and lance just charged at simon biting him all over. Rex just stood back and watched. Simon tried to get away but he fell and he was bitten some more before lance started ripping apart his trousers. He then bit him in the private parts and would not let go. He held the bite for 3 mins and rex was just standing there . After the 3 minutes was over that's when I came in. I had a dream about the attack , after holding the bite lance started crunching up and chewing apart his testicles causing the loudest screams and crys of agony and rex did not do anything about it he just stood there. Lance then shook ripping it all out and rex still just stood there and did not move a muscle. if I was any later coming home I think that might have happened. If lance did crunch up and chew apart his testicles causing very loud screams and crys would rex have done anything or just stood there and watched?
