I was out walking my dog and I saw a husky off leash running around. No sign of an owner. He got closer and was friendly but trying to dominate my Husky Lab mix.
My dog got a little growly and the husky would not back off. I would not class him as aggressive but he wasn’t allowing us to pass. It was raining I tried calling the local authority’s but was struggling with the touch menu as trying to use a touchscreen phone in the rain is bloody nightmare
I took my dog into the play area as it was fenced off and allowed some distance from the other husky.
I got close to the other husky saw his collar but no ID tag. I had a long line which I use for training my dog and tied him up to the gate (to allow me and my dog to escape without drama). Last thing I wanted was the other husky following me on to the road.
I dropped my dog off home came back and the husky had bite through the leash and escaped.
What is the process in this and how could I have handled it better?
