I started working from home about six months ago and my (pretty neurotic) rescue dog is around me all day. He seems to constantly expect playtime now. I do my best to ignore him until predetermined walk times (e.g. lunch) but every time I get up to use the bathroom or grab a drink, he goes from 0 to 100 excitement level, expecting some sort of attention. I'm pretty good at not indulging but feel like this whole cycle is inducing more anxiety in him. He started acting up at daycare more than ever before. (I've had him for 4 years and he is almost 5 now.)
The only advice I can find is to lock them in a different room, which is tough given my office location. Any other strategies you all have used?
