I've been fostering a female 7.5year old cat for since February and she never lets me sleep. She has fresh water, a clean litter box inside and outside my room, a scratch post, and a variety of toys. I play with her before I go to sleep and throughout the day. I'll also wake her up when I see her napping otherwise she'll sleep all day. I cannot leave food out for her because she is diabetic and insulin dependent, so she required 1 unit of insulin immediately after eating. She eats diabetic Royal Canin wet and dry food and I check her sugar levels which are always perfect. She eats twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. Vets have found no other causes for her behaviour. If I lock her outside of my room she will damage the floor to get in. I am a morning person, but she'll walk all over me, pats my face with her paws, rubs her face on me, paces on my bed, and walks all over my hair, resulting in pulling some out. She does all of this while constantly meowing loudly. This starts around 3AM and lasts until 6AM, continuously. Sometimes it starts earlier if I get up in the middle of the night. Sometimes I can't sleep and pretend to sleep, too afraid to turn on the TV or check my e-mail. I remain in bed because I do not want to give in, and when I do get out I go about my mornings and then around 6:30AM feed her, but she is meowing the entire time. If I hide under the duvet she'll dig. I don't know what to do :( Any suggestions?
This aside, she has no other behavioural issues.
