Cat's behavior suddenly changed overnight

I have a scottish straight cat (male, neutered). He's about 2 years old and we've had him since itty bitty kitten.

Let me just clarify upfront that I'd 100% be at the vet about this if I could, but unfortunately here in Korea the vet is exorbitantly expensive and both me and my partner are on 50% pay due to covid19. Things are just tough right now.

So he usually had very normal cat behavior. Would get into stuff all night being nocturnal, got the zoomies and would run like mad around the house, knocking stuff over and acting like a nut case. Afraid of literally nothing.

Then all of a sudden he seemed a bit lethargic. He was recently-ish diagnosed with crystals in his urine, so we put it down to that since he was having a lot of discomfort and pee issues. He's been on special food given by the vet and eating a lot of wet food to encourage more water intake (he won't really drink much water).

Within the same 24 hour period of being lethargic, he started acting extremely skittish. Afraid of literally everything. We hung the laundry out to dry and he was scared shitless of it. There was a bra on a chair and he was totally freaked the hell out by that. He has developed an extremely fear of my closet as well, when he used to always get in there and sleep.

Nothing in the environment has changed, at all, but he's acting almost as if we have moved into a totally new house. He didn't even act like this when we did move a year ago.

On top of this he also doesn't get zoomies at all. He has barely left our bed in 2 days.

He still responds to toys and gets a little perkier but doesn't jump and go nuts after the toy like he usually would.

He seems to be eating normally.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? I'm so worried about him but literally can not afford vet right now. It just has to wait until our pay returns to normal.
