I love my Labrador, Lilly, more than I can express.
We’ve joked she’s been an “old woman” since she was a puppy. She’s had arthritis her entire life, but never lets it stop her.
She recently turned 12, and other than the arthritis she’s always had, I don’t notice any differences in her at all (other than the fact that she is even more spoiled!) She’s very smart, still loves to play, and still loves attention in general.
But, I know she’s old, and that I most likely don’t have THAT much time left with her. It’s something I don’t like to think about, but feel like I should consider.
I just would like to know what other dog owners with senior pups do to deal with this feeling? I feel like I should be doing something more than I would normally do since I know these are my last years with her, and feel guilty that I’m not, if that makes sense?
