Heres the story:
I got my female cat, orange long hair about 5 years ago from the humane society. She's an indoor cat, and has been since I brought her home. I've been brushing her and trying to bathe her (she's very VERY difficult). I read online that flea dirt means they have fleas or recently had fleas. Anytime I itch these black little specks she starts licking me like crazy. I also saw NO flea's running around her fur as well, and I checked - thoroughly.
So immediately I went to my other cat, he's a male short haired tabby and checked to see if he had any flea dirt on him. There was NO flea dirt, and I saw NO fleas on him as well. He is as well an indoor cat and has been since I've adopted him from the humane society.
I also have no bites on my ankles or on my neck, both cats sleeps on my bed but no where near my face, always at the end of the bed.
So I'm wondering - does anyone know if flea dirt lasts on a cats skin for a very long time if not cleaned properly?
p.s. im going to the vet for sure, making an appointment i just need some quick knowledge from anyone if they have any!
cheers, stay safe guys!
