I don;t know if this is the right subreddit, but I am incredibly desperate
Hi, we have a 1 year old female syrian hamster, and it just fell from the top floor of our house (so approximately 15 feet). She was roaming in the upstairs hallway and we saw her close to the railing, so we tried to get her. She got scared and backed up and fell onto a hard wood floor. She landed on her feet, and as soon as we went downstairs, she was already moving. She didn't seem to be disoriented or anything. She is currently back in her cage and we took out her wheel, but she has a limp. She doesn't put weight on her back left foot. The foot is also a little red. My brother thinks something is wrong with one of her toes. Additionally, her spine seems a little bit crooked, but she did have existing back problems, so its hard to tell if its been like that. Overall she is acting fine. After the fall she still wanted to come out of her cage and play, and she even ran on her wheel a little bit. Currently, we have her water bottle marked and we took a picture of her food to make sure she eats and drinks. I would go to a vet, but quarantine will prevent us from doing this for the next month so please please please-- if anyone knows if something is wrong and what we should do please tell us.
(I know I should have kept a better watch on her, and I am terribly angry at myself for that. I apologize.)
