Kitten bullies older cat

We have two cats and we got the kitten a year ago. They’ve gotten along decently all this time but we noticed he’s been bullying the older cat more lately. It’s possible this was happening when we were out for the work day, but we notice he trips her or pounces on her when she walks by him, tries to steal her food, pounces on her when she’s sleeping in the cat tree, and as soon as she uses the scratching post he comes over and pushes her out. He takes over her toys too where she just gives up and goes somewhere else; our cat sitter got each of them their own toy a while back and he plays with his briefly before stealing the older cat’s toy and she doesn’t get to play with it.

Because he still tracks litter and kicks poop out of the litter box sometimes we don’t let him in the bedroom, but the older cat gets access. Whenever we let her in she’s like a whole different cat. She purrs and is super affectionate and asks for head scratches and sleeps on our pillows, but when she’s in the living room she doesn’t do any of those things and keeps to herself. Luckily the kitten hasn’t actually hurt her but I’m worried he’s asserting his dominance so much that she’s afraid to approach us when he’s around. Since we’ve been at home so much lately we’ve given her a few hours in the bedroom every day and she’s seemed happy during that time. Has anyone else dealt with this before? What other things can we try?
