My dog Max is a border collie australian sheperd mix that was taken in at 3 months old, when we first got him he was only afraid pf stairs and car rides since then he has gotten over those fears a year later however he seems to have become afraid of sticks and then afew weeks later ropes. He has a tendancy to run away to play with the neighbors dog, the 2 of them get along however some of the time they wander around the neighborhood what is on the countryside. I dont want to tie him via chain to make sure he doesnt run away but that isnt the point... Thing is considering that the fear of sticks and ropes are so severe and after he ran away i think one of my neighbors have been abusing him when he walks by..
I dont know for certain though and i dont know what to do, i want to get a proximity collar but i cannot afford one, and i dont want to lock him inside the house. He also tends to run off even when im outside with him. Any advice? (sorry about the formatting, im on mobile and english isnt my first language)
