My senior rescue pup is 10 (we think!). She’s 20 lbs - corgi mix. We’ve had for almost a year now and love her dearly. From day one, she’s refused to eat dry kibble and we’ve had to spend a little more money that we would like on buying her wet food. My roommate recently got a kitten and as of literally yesterday, my dog somehow smelt the kitten’s dry food and has LOVED it, and I mean LOVE. My dog has NEVER ate dry food before - not even dry treats! She is so spoiled!
I read somewhere that sometimes dogs like cat food because it is higher in meat content than dog food is — this would totally make sense, my dog loves meat as treats. She gets chickfila grilled nuggets once a month as a special treat and just goes crazy for that 🤪
Anyways, I’m obviously not going to feed my dog cat kibble as her main source of nutrition. I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced a similar problem of a super spoiled dog who refuses to eat dry food? Unless it’s cat food of course 🙄😂 Would love to see if anyone has some suggestions on dry kibble that has a high meat content but is still healthy? Right now we have gotten her to eat Hill’s Science Diet mixed with chicken toppers - a HUGE step up from the nasty, expensive wet canned food that she used to eat, but it would be great to totally get her on kibble now that I know she can handle the texture and just prefers the meatier stuff!
