I have a 4 year old cat, would I be okay getting a kitten?

Hi there! So I grew up around a good amount of cats, 9 total cats and they were all kittens when we first got them. My parents went to a pet shelter, they found out these cats were unfortunately going to be euthanized if they couldn't be rescued, so my parents took them all. They are lovely cats! But about 6 months ago, I moved out of my parents house, and I brought one of those cats with me, as she always kind of isolated herself away from the others, but she would play with them now and then, but she just didn't hang with them like the others always did. She loves my apartment (after the initial phase of cats getting used to a new environment) But now my girlfriend and I would love to have a kitten, but we don't know how to properly go about it. If it helps, our cat is 4 years old and female, fixed.

Thank you to any insight, and I hope you are staying safe, as well as your pets!
