Any idea what sort of animal would put small heap of untouched cat food kibble in my garden ?

Sorry if that doesn't belong here, I'm not familiar with this sub but IDK where to post.

Two month ago, some of my dogs (I have 4) were foraging on my lawn, curious as to what they were eating, I followed them around, only to discover a dozen small piles of (cat I guess ?) food, like 8-10 small kibbles on each pile.

So it clearly wasn't just thrown over my fence or something. My SO was worried that someone was in our garden and tried to poison our dogs, so we took them and kept them a few days, in case of our dogs getting sick (they didn't get sick).

We let it go but I installed a basic camera with detection facing our garden (but sadly it doesn't work very well in total darkness).

This morning, once again, some few piles of kibble, almost burried in the grass. Now, myself I'm more in favor of an animal that would have stored them here, I was also thinking maybe a cat barfed them here (I saw 2 cats once in our garden), but the kibble appears as fresh out of a box as possible, no signe or vomit or digestion.

Any suggestions ? Idk what animals would do that just on the grass like this, maybe squirrels ? For context I'm in northern France, pretty temperate climate and mostly boring animals.

Thanks.
