Hi all!
I adopted a cat about a week ago. She was doing pretty good--eager to explore, so she didnt want to stay cooped up in my room for more than a day. She was aloof but friendly to my roommates, didnt run away or seem afraid of them, just wary. She's very affectionate toward me.
Well... yesterday, when I got home from work, I was playing with her. Then one of my roommates came home. This roommate has heavy footsteps, and as she walked from the entrance to her room, my cat became inexplicably frightened and ran behind the laundry units.
Now whenever my cat even hears that particular roommate move around, she darts and hides. I'm not sure what to do about this--does anyone have any ideas on how I could help my roommate and cat?
