I have a female indoor cat and a male indoor/outdoor cat. While the two of them are certainly not friends, they do tolerate one another. This leads me to "The Chair". I own one of those oversized round chairs that said female cat used to sleep in. It was her favorite spot. One day indoor/outdoor cat decided to take a nap in said chair. Now, my female cat refuses to sleep on it. I have tried to place her on "The Chair" but that is met with unhappy meowing. It is a fabric chair, so I assumed that it was his scent bothering her, so I sprayed "The Chair" with a disinfectant and let it dry. Male cat hasn't been on "The Chair" in months, so you would think the scent is gone by now. I have washed the blanket and pillow that sit on "The Chair" but she still refuses to get on it. I feel really bad about letting him sleep on it and thus taking away her favorite spot. Is it a territorial thing? What can I do to "The Chair" so that she will want to sleep on it again?
