Childhood dog is being put to sleep soon.. what about the other dogs?

I'm certainly not coping well at all- but this is more about the other two dogs at home.

Both dogs freak out at the veterinary office, which will likely stress the older dog out quite a bit. She's a Labrador nearing 16 years of age so she's big and also clumsy/disoriented-looking when stressed.

That said..They've only known a life with the older dog being around. One of them will even look for her if she's not home and refuses to go inside the house until the older dog is inside (and if the older dog enters the house without being seen, then we gotta call over the older dog for the younger dog to see). Should they come to the veterinary office with us?
